Bucknell University, a private liberal arts college, was founded in 1846, and is located in the small town of Lewisburg, PA. With the College of Arts & Sciences, College of Management, and the College of Engineering, it is a perfect place for the SHE-CAN scholars to study a variety of subjects. Students build a strong intellectual foundation across a wide breadth of disciplines.

SHE-CAN Partnership

Bucknell has been deeply involved with SHE-CAN since the very beginning, accepting and funding some of our very first SHE-CAN scholars. By taking the initial risk of believing they had a place for these fearless women on their campus, Bucknell fully embraced their role in educating global leaders.

Bucknell’s willingness to take risks and be a pioneer for women’s leadership has continued to this day as they were also one of the first to make a long-term commitment to joining the SHE-CAN coalition.

William Morrow, Bucknell Trustee, expressed his support by saying, “The SHE-CAN scholarship program provides not only the opportunity for its scholars to benefit from the education that Bucknell can offer, but it furthers the university’s Global Learning Initiative by bringing students from diverse geographies, backgrounds, and experiences that will enrich and educate the students, professors, and administrators with whom they will interact.”
