Janet "CeCe" Kwenah: Seeking an International Development Internship

Bio: CeCe Kwenah is a sophomore at Lafayette College majoring in International Affairs with a minor in French. Selected as a Resident Advisor (RA) on the Lafayette campus, CeCe dedicates time, energy, and leadership, working closely with student residents and management staff to create educational programs for community building while representing students’ needs. In addition, CeCe has been named as the Global Affairs Chairperson for the International Students Association at Lafayette College, using an online platform and organized programs to bring students and faculty news and information about important events worldwide.
CeCe has been a natural leader in her community from a young age, having attained many certificates for participation in leadership seminars and workshops hosted by the U.S. Embassy and the Liberia Ministry of Gender and Children Protection Agency, among other institutions. She attended several workshops at the U.S. embassy in Liberia and was awarded certificates for her participation; these included Civic Leadership and Public Management Training, Youth Female Leaders Dialogue on Elections Process, and Women’s Leadership Conference on Gender Bias. She also implemented a project in her community to raise awareness against throwing trash in the streets and built trash cans for local use. CeCe often represented her school at national and local public speaking and performance events. She regularly appeared on the ELBC (Liberia’s national radio station) Integrity Hour, where she discussed corruption in schools and how youth can fight against it. With her passion for child development through education, one of CeCe’s major achievements has been Founder and Director of the nonprofit Think Kids Liberia, which empowers kids in Liberia by investing in child advocacy and education!
