Sahas is going to the University of Portland in Oregon. She has a desire for STEM so her major is Civil Engineering. Sahas is definitely looking forward to playing around the construction laboratory and experience hands-on work on construction-related activities because UP is very resourceful.
Before coming to the U.S., Sahas had joined many social services and even started her own project called Yes Student Network (YSN). YSN ignites the passion for STEM in high school students in the province of Cambodia. Since YSN is her sweat, and tears and has been making impacts on students, She had inspired her friends to continue the project before she came to the U.S. In addition, her passion of women in STEM had led her to be a project support officer at STEM Sisters Cambodia on a project called “Putting the Spotlight on Cambodia Women in STEM” for five months before her departure.
After her graduation, Sahas wants to make the construction sector in Cambodia more efficient and innovative and be a female role model in STEM. She believes that the joint-hands of both men and women will accelerate Cambodia economy faster.
